Report launch on Migrant Rights in Lebanon


The Institute for Women’s Studies in the Arab World, LAU

The Institute for Migration Studies, LAU and KAFA (Enough) Violence and Exploitation,

cordially invite you to the launching of two studies titled:


1) Trafficking of Migrant Domestic Workers in Lebanon: A Legal Analysis By Kathleen Hamill, Lawyer and Activist

2) An Exploratory Study of Psychoanalytic and Social Factors in the Abuse of Migrant Domestic Workers by Female Employers in Lebanon By Ray Jureidini, Professor, LAU

These reports are part of the “Multimedia Virtual Space for Human Rights” project, funded by the European Union and implemented by COSV, KAFA, CLDH and PPM.

Culture of Racism in Lebanon report launch

On the occasion of the “International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination”

COSV and Insan Association


In the presence of a representative of the EU Delegation to Lebanon


have the pleasure to invite you to a press conference


To launch the report “Culture of Racism in Lebanon” by Ms Simba Shani Kamaria Russeau, in the

frame of the “Multimedia Virtual Space for Human Rights” project, funded by the European Union and

implemented by COSV, Kafa, CLDH and PPM


And to shed the light on the discrimination and racism that migrant workers in Lebanon face on a daily

basis – which is part of Insan Association’s campaign in partnership with the Spanish NGO AIDA for

the rights of migrant workers in Lebanon funded by the Spanish Agency for Development and

Cooperation

The event will include a photo exhibition and a presentation from the Children of Insan School.

Report: A Child Protection Assessment: Migrant Workers and their children in Lebanon

Terre des hommes Foundation Lausanne (TdhL) and Insan Association carried out the following needs assessment of migrant domestic workers and their children in various locations throughout Beirut, Lebanon, between August 2009 and October 2009. The research also focused on establishing and locating children of migrant workers and their family unit. Click here for more information about research.
